Last updated: September 2026. Friends for Good, Inc. respects your privacy. Here is what we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
Who we are
Friends for Good, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (EIN 85-1704976). This policy covers ffgphilly.org and the sign-up, donation, and contact forms on it.
What we collect
When you sign up to volunteer, subscribe to our list, donate, or contact us, we collect what you type into the form: name, email address, phone number where asked, and your message. Donations are processed by our third-party payment partner. We never see or store your card number.
We also collect basic technical information automatically: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from. It sets cookies in your browser and records page views, clicks on buttons and outbound links, form submissions, and a coarse, city-level location derived from your IP address. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell this data.
You can opt out at any time by installing Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, by blocking cookies in your browser settings, or by turning on your browser's Do Not Track or tracking protection features.
Email and event alerts
If you join our list, we use your email address to send event announcements, volunteer opportunities, and occasional updates about our work. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. We do not rent, sell, or trade our email list.
Photos you share with us
Some pages, including our Good Gala page, let you upload photos from an event. Photos you upload are stored in a private Friends for Good cloud folder and may be shown in the public gallery on this site, in our recap emails, and on our social accounts, with credit to Friends for Good.
Please upload only photos you took or have permission to share, and please do not upload photos of anyone who has asked not to be photographed. Uploaded photos appear on the site without a manual review step, so if something needs to come down, email us and we will remove it promptly.
Photography at our events
We photograph and film our volunteer events and fundraisers, and we use those images on this site, in reports, and on social media. If you would rather not appear, tell an organizer at the event or email us afterward and we will take your image out of anything we control.
How we use your information
To coordinate events and volunteer shifts, send the alerts you opted into, acknowledge and receipt donations, respond to questions, and understand how the site is being used. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers who help us operate: our donation processor, our email and spreadsheet tools, our website host, and our analytics provider. We may share limited details with a partner organization when we host an event together or use their space. We will disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Donation records are kept as long as nonprofit accounting and tax rules require. Volunteer and contact records are kept while they are useful for coordinating our programs. Analytics data expires on our provider's standard schedule. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can unsubscribe from emails with one click, opt out of analytics as described above, and ask us to remove a photo.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and our forms are protected against automated abuse. No system is perfect, but we limit what we collect and who can see it.
Changes and contact
